I met Marc in one of the meetings. He is a student exchange from the University of Essen Duisburg, Germany and is currently doing his internship in UKM. So much so that we thought he was enjoying his days in Malaysia, but actually he is not. So I asked him, what was his expectations. He told me that he chose Malaysia as one of his exchange countries, because he is enchanted by the greenery of the forests, the nature beauty of the mountains and waterfalls and beaches so on....LOL.
And yea, Beatrice and I felt sorry for him as he got into the wrong place that doesn't meet his expectations. He only went to KL twice and Genting once during his past four weeks in Malaysia. How pity huh, don't get to see the real Malaysia. And guess what, he has only been to Port Dickson but no other beaches! Gosh,,,We quickly clarified that the nice beaches are in Pulau Sipadan, Sabah!!! and Pulau Redang, perhaps!!! And ohh yea, he said that my brown skin colour is a sign of wealthiness in his home country, because only richies go to beach every week or perhaps every day to tan their skin.yeahhh yeahhh, amazing huh!
I am quite impressed by their lifestyles simply because they " Work Hard and Play Hard". They really practised it and unlike us, we either play too hard or work too hard. This is because Germans work from 8am to 4pm everyday and after that, they will throw their stress away and indulge in whatever activities they are doing. They work real hard within that period of time and err... no lazing around and gossiping going on as what I was told. He is quite surprised by our working lifestyles in PUSANIKA, which is from 8am to 12pm, and after a long long unseemingly end break ( if you get what I meant), they will get back to work again, and they go off at 5pm. And because he is a facilitator, he has to attend meetings and interviews at night like how us, students did. He asked, why can't all the studies and meetings be held before 5pm, and I agree with that too. We should be doing something pleasurable and relaxing after 5pm right.Haha. And to them, family always comes first.
Quite an interesting and sociable guy, but there's still some points in life that Beat and I don't agree to because we hold on strongly to our own beliefs.Haha! Good ler.
I wish if I were to be in his country next time, ( If la..if...), I don't want to be only placed in the university. Yucks, it is like stuck in no way if they weren't someone out there who will bring you to travel around. I do rather become backpackers then, at least it is more interesting and carefree! I shall wait for maybe three to four years then.Hopefully, I can go by then. Haha. when I will have my long long break again. I am somehow so in love with Germany!
